Many of you would be wondering how to make Dosa with Oats. I found this recipe in one of the blogs and tried it. It was extremely tasty and healthy due to the magic ingredient in it – Oats. The texture of this Dosa is very similar to Rava Dosa.
I just doubled the recipe found in Sharmi’s passions and also made some adjustments to suit my taste.
If you are bored of your usual breakfast menu, try this wonderful recipe and stay healthy..
Ingredients:
Oats | 2 cups |
Rice flour | 1/2 cup |
Semolina | 1/2 cup |
Jeera | 1/4 tsp |
Black pepper | 1/2 tsp |
Finely chopped ginger | 1 tsp |
Chopped Curry leaves | 1 tsp |
Chopped coriander leaves | 1 tsp |
Chopped green chillies | 1 tsp |
Salt | to taste |
Oil | as needed. |
Method:
1. Dry roast the Oats until it turns light brown. Cool it down and then powder it.
2. In a mixing bowl, add oats powder, rice flour and semolina along with other ingredients except oil. Make a thin batter by adding water. The batter should be much thinner than the usual dosa batter.
3. Heat the Tawa and then spread a little amount of oil on it. Pour the batter forming an outer circle and then fill the inner part the circle. Do not spread the batter with the ladle. Just pour it and it will start forming small holes as in Rava Dosa. Drizzle oil on top and wait till it cooks and then flip and cook the other side.
4. Transfer it to a plate and serve hot with coconut chutney.
