Dairy Free (Vegan) French Toast

This is an easy breakfast recipe. There are very few ingredients and it could be made in a jiffy. It is very healthy due to the addition of chickpea flour..Healthy can be tasty too..I am sure you all will enjoy this quick breakfast for busy mornings..

Note : This recipe is eggless. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans and can be enjoyed as a snack also.

Dairy free french toast 2

Ingredients:

Bread slices 4 (cut into halves)
Chickpea flour (Besan) 1/2 cup
Chopped onions 5 or 6
Green chillies 2 chopped
Chopped coriander leaves as needed
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
Salt as needed
Water as needed
Oil for pan frying

Method:

1. Make a thick batter with chickpea flour, chilli powder, asafoetida and salt by adding enough water.

2. Add chopped green chillies, onions and coriander leaves.

3. In a pan, add oil. When the oil is hot, dip the bread slices in the batter one at a time and fry it on medium flame. This would take a little longer as the chickpea flour needs more time to cook.

4. Flip the bread slice and cook till both sides turn light brown and even in colour.

5. Serve the toast hot.
