Today’s post is an interesting snack recipe which can be made out of leftover rice. This can be made within 10 – 15 minutes with no pre preparation. Another tip – This can be used in place of veg manchurian balls in case you have very little time for chopping the vegetables or literally no veggies in hand. The ingredients are leftover rice and a few spices along with corn starch and flour. The texture is almost the same as veg manchurian balls.
Ingredients:
Left over rice | 1.5 cups |
Coriander powder | 2 tsp |
Red chilli powder | 2 tsp |
Roasted Cumin powder | 1 tsp |
Chopped onion | 1/2 cup |
Chopped garlic | 1 tbsp |
Corn starch | 1 tbsp |
Flour | 2 tsp |
Breadcrumbs / Corn flakes crumbs | 2 tbsp |
Oil | for deep frying |
Salt | as needed |
Method:
1. Mash the leftover rice and mix all the spices.
2. Add corn starch, flour and breadcrumbs / corn flakes crumbs (dairy free) to make small dumplings.
3. Heat the oil in a pan. When the oil is heated (medium heat), add the dumplings and fry them. They should become golden brown as shown in the picture.
4. Drain them and serve with ketchup.
This can be very addictive..
